There is a program that I have been using for a while now called “Malwarebytes” that I recommend you install and run as a free version. It is only compatible with Windows products and not Mac’s. When I run this program on my own computer it always catches and removes malicious stuff that regular antivirus programs miss. I recommend that you run both an antivirus and Malwarebytes for the double punch that antivirus programs alone often miss.

Many times we unknowingly let bad stuff get on our computers by giving permission to certain downloads, especially games, tool bars and add-ons. This is especially true if you let the grand kids go crazy playing games on the computer as my Mom did. Many of these hidden items bog down your system, take over search functions, install malicious tracking and marketing software.

Let’s will walk you through the download, installation and running process of this program and we will get rid of a bunch of junk on your computer.

After running Malwarebytes I am sure it has likely removed a bunch of bad stuff and you are good for now and that’s all you need to do and your computer should be a lot faster.

The problem with just leaving it here is that the free version of Malwarebytes only runs when you manually run it so there is nothing stopping the same spyware, malware, Trojan horses, internet worms, etc. from continuing to infect and slow down your computer again from surfing the internet.

Also the problem with letting these things get on your computer in the first place is that malicious software can delete files, registry items, etc. and render your computer inoperable or with severe operating problems that are not correctable with an antispyware or antivirus program.

In other words you can get rid of the spyware and viruses but they can’t replace things that are missing or broken. That’s why it’s important to have real time protection to stop them before they get on your computer.
